Easy Hifz Techniques for Toddlers
To make each lesson easily memorized with interest, we use some attractive hifz techniques that kids enjoy.
1- Listening to the recitation of young Qari
Our male and female hifz tutors play audio of the Surahs recited by young qaris to engage kids and ask them to read after in the Qari’s tune. This way, kids learn verses fast.
2- Sign language and flashcard method
To remember the story related to each Surah, we use sign language and flashcards with the main symbols. For instance, the elephant and a common swift (Ababeel) are symbols of Surah Al-Feel.
3- Watching Hinted Animations
To let toddlers recognize the Surahs and recall the verses, we show them the animations of the common themes of the Surah so they can easily recall them. For example, the animation of an earthquake is a theme of Surah Az-Zilzal.
4- Rhythmic Recitation Technique
Kids love to sing in a melodious tone, so why not let them recite Surahs beautifully to remember forever? The tutors recite verses and kids repeat after them by imitating the Tajweed and the rhythm.
How Do We Help Young Learners Memorize?
The primary concern of the online hifz course for toddlers is not to make them memorize verses forcefully. We aim at engaging them in stories that make them curious to know more and keep learning as an enjoyment and not a burden.
Once the targeted Surah is introduced with mind mapping, clouding, flashcards, storyline, and animations, the tutor recites only one verse for the day and breaks it into two or three phrases to make it easy.
Then, tiny little stars read the phrases and match the symbols related to them. The more they read and do the activities, the better they memorize
The next day, they narrate the story in key points along with the verse. Kids are asked to solve the riddles and puzzles related to the Surah.
How We Engage Toddlers in Hifz Lessons
In the online kids hifz program, it is sometimes difficult to engage kids of 3-6 years as they need constant activities and playtime. That is why we have designed activities and games regarding the Surahs they have to memorize. This includes:
➡️ Colorful printable worksheets for tracing, joining, and pasting.
➡ ️ Online games and puzzles to complete the verse, surah, and story.
➡️ Cartoon animations of different themes of the Surahs.
➡ ️ Show and tell sessions after each lesson.
➡️ Quiz competitions to engage kids.
