1- Be that Early-Bird Person
Try to wake up after or before Fajr time. At that time, your mind will be so fresh. You can almost hear all Sheikhs giving this piece of advice to all of their students. Plus, this time is so blessed as the prophet said; “Allah SWT blessed the early times (mornings) of my nation (to do business in)”.
2- Stay Away from Distraction
Distraction wastes our energy, concentration restores it. You should stay focused to memorize faster and much better. Switch off your phone and switch off your wi-fi, and put all of your energy into your memorization.
3- Do Not Jump Around
Be more organized and stick to the order of surahs. Do not move to another surah if you found the one you are memorizing is hard. At least, you will be so happy when you accomplish memorizing a full juza or one big surah. That will really encourage you a lot.
How to Memorize & Revise Quran
A- New memorization:
this is the part that you are memorizing for the first time. Try to make it short.
B- New revision:
it is the part that you memorized a few days or weeks ago. It seems the easiest task of all. That is why it is much better to start with that as that will be a good and easy refresher to your mind.
C- Follow the three Rs (recite, read, and repeat)
First of all, you will have to recite the passage you are going to memorize according to the Tajweed rules. You will have to focus on rectifying your mistakes with your teacher. Then, move to the next verse and do the same. When you finish the first two verses; do not move on. Combine them together to lirk them in your mind. And when you finish that, move to the third one and after finishing it, combine all three.
