When we say it is possible to become a Hafiz in six months, it is verses like this that give us the confidence to say so.  If Allah hadn’t made the Quran very easy to recite and understand, nobody would be able to memorize the Quran even in 10 years.

Becoming a Hafiz in six months is doable, but a lot of work will go into it. A person who wants to achieve this great feat will sacrifice many things. To become a Hafiz in six months, a person must work with a tutor. Then, he or she should start with short surahs.  Another way for a person to remember what he is memorizing is to be teaching other people. Therefore, teaching other people is very important for anyone who wants to learn quran by heart.

In Quran 54:17, Allah says,

And We have certainly made the Quran easy to remember. So is there anyone who will be mindful?

Tips to Become a Hafiz in Six Months

1. Work with a Tutor

It is possible to memorize the Quran by yourself, but you should work with a tutor if you want a fast result by enrolling in a quran memorization program. A hifz teacher will use the experience and teaching strategies he or he has learned from reading the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family).

Anyone who reads about how the Messenger of Allah used to teach will be able to impact knowledge on others. To make a lesson fun and understanding, teachers usually adopt different strategies that a student of knowledge might not know. The Messenger of Allah himself used strategies to teach his companions.

Just look at how the Messenger of Allah taught his companions. It is a mixture of knowledge, experience, and dedication to teaching. That is what you are likely to get if you work with a qualified tutor in your Quran memorization journey. Hidayah Network has the best online female Quran teachers for sisters.

2. Memorize 4 to 5 Pages Daily

Six months is approximately 183 days. The Quran has approximately 605 pages. If we divide 605/183, we will have 3.3 which is more than 3.

What this means is that anyone who wants to become a Hafiz in six months must memorize four pages daily. Our advice is that, if the person can memorize up to 5 pages, he or she should do so because of days of emergency. If a person sticks to 4 pages per day, it means any day he or she has an emergency, he or she will need more days and that might exceed the set goal.

3. Master the Quran Recitation with Tajweed

A person who wants to memorize the Quran smoothly must be able to recite the Quran with proper tajweed. There is no way a person who is still finding it hard to pronounce the words of the Quran will find it easy to become a Hafiz in just six months.

Memorization apart, from reciting the Quran with tajweed has many benefits. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) said:

‘’One who recites the Quran beautifully, smoothly, and precisely will be in the company of noble angels.

4. Start with the Easiest Juz (30)

The best way to become a Hafiz in six months is to start with the easiest Juz. In most cases, the easiest Juz to memorize is usually the 30th Juz because it includes surahs that we are familiar with right from childhood.

The 30th Juz contains 37 surahs that most of us are familiar with. It begins with surah Naba and ends with Surah an Nas. The Juz contains a large number of complete chapters. The chapters are quite short, ranging in length from 3-46 verses each. Most of the chapters in the Juz consist of fewer than 25 ayahs.

5. Design a Memorization Schedule and Stick to It

Embarking on an important journey as becoming a Hafiz in six months requires dedication and commitment. After drawing a memorization plan, you should stick to the plan. The importance of having a Quran memorization schedule is because it will serve as a guide.

Every day you wake up, you already know what to do.

6. Use Ottoman, Whole Page, or Bottom-to-top Technique

These three quran memorization techniques have been tried and tested and they have proven to be efficient.

1- The Ottoman technique requires memorizing the last page of the 1st Juz. For example, if you are using a Quran with 30 pages in each Juz. You will start with the 30th page of the 1st Juz and continue learning the last pages until you arrive at the 39th.

Then, you will start learning the 29th which is the second last page of each Juz. Then, the 28th page until you are done memorizing all the pages.

2- The whole page technique requires you to start reading the page you want to memorize several times with Tajweed.

3- The bottom to top page requires you to start memorization from the last line. You will recite it several times until it is saved to your memory. Once you are sure it has been saved in your memory, you read what you have memorized from your memory and keep advancing to the upper line.

7. Try to Understand What You Are Memorizing

Understanding the Quran is another important way to become a hafiz at home. When a person understands the Quran, it builds piety and tranquility in a person’s life. It allows the person to be more focused when memorizing because he or she can ponder on the meaning of the verses.

8. Revision and Repetition is key

Abu Musa al-Ash’ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘’Keep on reciting the Quran, for by the One in whose Hand my life is, the Quran slips away from memory faster than the camels escaping their tying ropes.

9. Be Motivated by the Reward

If anything in this world does not motivate you to become a Hafiz, the reward that Allah has promised the Huffaz should be enough to motivate you.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said; ‘’It shall be said to the one who has memorized the Quran – ‘Recite, and rise up, recite (melodiously) as you would recite in the world. For indeed your rank shall be at the last verse you recited.’’

These and many more are the rewards for anyone who memorizes the Quran. May Allah make the memorization of the Quran easy for all of us.  Enroll yourself in online hifz classes and start hifzing Quran with huffaz tutors.
